COCPO renders swift justice to the Coastal area rape victim – suspect positively identified
Cagayan de Oro City Police Office- July 20, 2022, PCOL AARON M MANDIA, City Director lauded the COCPO operating team for the conduct of follow-up operation and investigation which resulted to the arrest of rape suspect.
The Official said in his report to PBGEN BENJAMIN C ACORDA JR, Regional Director of Police Regional Office 10 that on July 19, 2022 at 4:30 PM, a continuous follow-up operation and in-depth investigation of PS3 Intelligence operatives led by PSMS Luisito Ugat Jr. Under the direct supervision of PCPT ERNESTO MIRANDA SANCHEZ, were able to invite and conducted interview for clarification and to shed light his participation (POI) as of one the close friends of Erwin B. Adame, a suspect of robbery homicide at Coastal Road, Lapasan this city sometime on July 17, 2022. One Daniel xxxxxxx, 33 yrs old, single, and a resident of St. John Puntod, CDOC cooperated and presented in our office. Subsequently, while the victim is waiting inside the office. The suspect then instructed to wear a black mask and wear black ball cap and once seen by the victim, the same identify the eyes, voice and body posture of the suspect.
The victim suddenly cried and subsequently positively pinpointed the suspect ( Daniel) as the one responsible raping her. PS3 WCPD investigator PCpl Tugal separates the victim and reconfirm the victim of her testimony, the minor victim without a doubt positively confirmed that indeed Daniel xxxxxx was the one who raped her. The investigating team assisted the victim by extracting her statement, then and there held the suspect by informing his constitutional rights mandated by law in native tongue.
COCPO Chief stated further that Police Station 3 investigators will be conducting continues follow-up operation and investigation for the identified suspect, while an appropriate case is bring prepared for case filing against the identified suspect.
PCOL AARON M MANDIA, City Director, directed all Station Commanders and Chief of Special Units to strengthened
target hardening and anti-criminality measures within AOR. Likewise, encourage the listening public especially the parents to be watchful in their respective children by cautioning them to refrain from wandering around late at night, but instead be vigilant and impose strict house rules at home.
