Cagayan de Oro City (COCPO) – Police Colonel SALVADOR N RADAM, City Director would like to inform the general public pertaining to the recent shooting incident transpired on February 28, 2024 more or less 1:30 PM and reported around 1:40PM at Zone 2 Lower Brgy Bulua, CDOC which caused the life of the victim, a certain LEO******, 38 yrs old, married and a resident of Keburiao, Quezon, Bukidnon.
Based on incident report received by Police Colonel Radam that about 1:40 in the afternoon of this date February 28, 2024, a concerned citizen called through the hotline number of Police Station 7 (Bulua) reported that there was an alleged shooting incident happen at Zone 2 Lower Barangay Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City. Personnel of the same office PS7 led by Police Major JERSON B ESTANILLA, Station Commander, immediately responded to verify the veracity of the said report.
Upon arrival of Police Station 7 personnel at the reported place, one male person was seen lying in the pathway lifeless who was later identified as LEO********, 38 years old, married, a resident of Keburiao, Quezon Bukidnon suspect was also later identified as C***** P*********N, legal age, presently residing at Zone 2 Lower, Barangay Bulua this City, a Ginger buyer.
COCPO City Director confirmed that base on Initial investigation conducted it was revealed by the witness ***********, 31 years old, married, a resident of Poblacion Quezon Bukidnon, and ********** accompanied the victim to deliver his merchandise Ginger and while they were at Diversion road Barangay Bayabas this City, the above victim allegedly contacted a buyer wife of the above named suspect, after more than one hour, the said buyer did not appear, that victim allegedly find another buyer and said buyer told him to deliver the ginger to Zone 2 Lower Barangay Bulua, this City. Upon their arrival at the said place, allegedly the above suspect approached and confronted the victim in an anger manner and asked him why he deal and deliver his ginger to other buyer, then suspect left them and allegedly suddenly went back and then shot the victim twice using unidentified kind of firearm, that he and E******** their other companion hurriedly left the area. Further, it was revealed that the wife of the suspect and the other buyer contacted by the victim were neighbors.
Based on report from the Regional Forensic Unit personnel led by PMSg Jonnil D Almonical, arrived and process the crime scene at around 2:35 PM, upon their initial checked to victim’s body he sustained one (1) gunshot wound in the left side back portion of his head, one (1) in his left side Lower back portion of his body and one (1) in his abdomen. However, no firer cartridges nor fired bullet were recovered in the crime scene area.
Police Colonel SALVADOR N RADAM, City Director assures the public that personnel of COCPO is still conducting a follow-up and hot pursuit operation for possible arrest of suspect. COCPO does not lower our guards at all times and we will continue to strengthened our anti-criminality and public safety operation in the community level. “I already directed the Station Commander of Police Station 7 operatives and intelligence personnel along with the city intelligence unit of COCPO with the help of our counterparts in the ground to resort all means for possible arrest of suspect and he must face charges before the law, likewise, I strongly appeal to listening public to continue to feed vital information that will lead to the whereabouts of suspect and relevant to the on going investigation and coordinate with your Higalang Pulis COCPO through hotline number: 09177713663 for immediate police response and solution to the case and will bring justice to the victim, the sooner”, added COCPO City Director.
The dead body was brought to Bollozos Funeral Parlor, Barangay Bulua this City.
