COCPO, Cagayan de Oro City – The Philippine National Police is celebrating its 123rd Police Service Anniversary with the theme, ‘Sa Bagong Pilipinas, ang Gusto ng Pulis Ligtas Ka’, with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. as the Guest of Honor and Speaker at Camp Crame in Quezon City on August 8, 2024.
Police Regional Office 10 along with the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) under the leadership of Police Brigadier General RICARDO G LAYUG JR., Regional Director, PRO 10 also joins the 123rd PSA Celebration and initiated the conduct of Enhanced Monitoring of Police Overall Wellness (EMPOw) Program CY 2024, wherein 154 PNP and NUP personnel from this PRO has benefited the said program at COCPO Headquarters, Brgy. 40, Poblacion, Cagayan de Oro City.
This year’s commemoration centers on the PNP’s century-long accomplishment that continuously ensure the safety and well-being of Filipinos in the entire nation. It also highlights the PNP’s commitment towards further strengthening the capabilities and image of the Police Force under the vision of a ‘Bagong Pilipinas’.
On the occasion, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the awarding of various personnel and units who have shown exemplary service in the line of duty. He also inspect the display of the newly acquired PNP assets which includes:
■20 units of personnel carrier,
■299 units of light motorcycle,
■193 units of light transport vehicle,
■75 units of patrol Jeep single cab, and
■155 units of light machine gun.
“Sa ilalim ng bagong Pilipinas, ang ating mga kapulisan ay maaasahan, malalapitan at mapagkakatiwalaan. Malakas ang kumpyansa at matatag ang ugnayan sa pagitan ng Pulisya at sa Sambayanan. At tayong lahat ay nagkakaisa sa ating makamitang isang mas mapayapa at maunlad na bayan”, expressed with confidence by President Marcos Jr.
President Marcos Jr. has acknowledge the strong determination of the police force in maintaining peace, security and harmony in our beloved country.
He added, under the leadership of Police General Rommel Francisco D Marbil, C,PNP, the Police have taken aggressive steps towards sustaining the gains of peace and order that we are collectively and painstakingly work hard for. The PNP has intensified its patrol operations and increase police deployments contributing to a notable drop in crime rates.
He also underscores that under the current PNP leadership has delivered the following notable accomplishments:
■The Police has responded to nearly all or to the actual number of 99.9% of the calls for police assistance;
■Operationalize the PNP Cyber Security Operation Center to intensify cyber patrolling;
■Strengthens significantly in an effective but are legal and lawful way our crackdown on illegal drugs, smuggling, illegal gambling, private armed groups, human trafficking and criminality;
■Police operations are now conducted as humane as truthful and as bloodless as possible; and
■Your joint operations with AFP on internal security had led to the neutralization of 1,951 members of Local Communist Terrorist group.
The Chief Executive assures the public that this administration remains committed to supporting the PNP
through the Comprehensive Capability Enhancement Program. We will also continue to provide additional logistical resources and advance Information Technology tools to further empower our police force.
“We commend your sacrifices, hardwork and genuine service for the country. Henceforth, I urge every police personnel to support the leadership of the PNP, sustain the current initiatives and take care of the people’s increasing confidence in the PNP capabilities. Remember, that your tasks regardless of magnitude or gravity leave an impact on the lives of the people”. Further, to all our awardees, this year, my sincere congratulations in your well deserved recognition. May you serve as inspirations for others to serve our people with integrity, excellence, and outmost dedication”, said the President of the Republic of the Philippines Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr.
The President ended his message by saying, “As long as we are united by our common goal of protecting our people and ensuring that the Rule of Law reign supreme, we are on track towards a safe, secure and empowered Bagong Pilipinas”.###
