September 2, 2022- COCPO leadership stands firm that our primary mission/responsibility was given top priority by the strong men and women of COCPO and that is to “enforce the law, prevent and control crimes, maintain peace and order, ensure public safety and internal security with the active support of the community”. Though crime happened, it’s only isolated and most of it was being addressed well by the concerned police stations, wherein in fact it is safe to say that most of the crimes were being addressed and given swift solutions.

On the issues and concerns lodged by the prestigious school – Xavier University, that they will have to suspend their in-person classes due to the recent stabbing incident involving “habal-habal” driver that transpired near their campus was perceived by them that it is most likely to happen amongst students.

COCPO understood their sentiments, as part of a responsive community and deemed it as an issue of concerns which prompted the top official of the same to issue a memorandum as a proactive measures in assuring the safety and security of student community inside the prestigious university.

For the information of the general public, the recent incident was the result of sudden outburst of feelings of a certain individual that made the crime consummated and escalated through social media.

We don’t know the point of the concerned individual why he/she needs to cover/capture it and indiscriminately post it in the mainstream social media, which creates great fear and gains wrong perception.

COCPO is pleased to inform the public that crime statistics go lower for the month of August in which we’re able to tally 3 crimes at the peak of Higala-ay Festival.

Figure states that our City remains safe to live, work and do business.
