CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — A police shot his drinking buddy in the chest at past 12 p.m. today, December 8, 2022 in Zone 3 lower Brgy Agusan, Cagayan de Oro City.

PMAJ PETER L TAJOR, Station Commander of Police Station 6 Puerto, identified the dead victim as Drixel Tumbaga y Abellanosa and a resident of Zone 3 lower Brgy Agusan, CDOC.

PMAJ TAJOR said that the suspect, PSSG Junlit Raboy Lubino, resident of Zone 3 lower Brgy Agusan, CDOC assigned at Jasaan Municipal Police Station, Misamis Oriental.

The police station Commander said in a police report where initial investigation showed that Lubino and Tumbaga earlier today were having a drinking spree together with Norbeto G. Sabonot, their companion and the witness, but they later ended up arguing.

Lubino with a gun suddenly drew and shots hitting Tumbaga in the chest. The people in the area rushed the victim to Puerto Community Hospital, Puerto, Cagayan de Oro City but later on died.

Responding police officer was able to apprehend the said suspect and recovered from his position his issued Glock 17 9mm cal. PNP 32135, 14 Live ammunition, 1 magazine and 1 fired cartridge.

Lubino was detained at the Police Station 6 Puerto custodial facility waiting for the filing of appropriate charges against him.

PCOL AARON M MANDIA, City Director of Cagayan de Oro City Police Office reminding his subordinates and all other PNP personnel including all other government public servants that belongs to profession in arms to refrain from involving in drinking spree while bringing their firearms especially in public places especially during the entire yulitude season.
