CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Displaying swift and decisive action, personnel of Police Station 2, Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO), arrested one of the suspects involved in a robbery incident on Thursday, April 9, 2026.
The incident was discovered at around 5:20 AM when an establishment along Velez Street, Barangay 29, was found forcibly opened with its padlock destroyed. Stolen items included laptops, cellular phones, and cash amounting to approximately PhP150,000.00.
Acting immediately, authorities reviewed CCTV footage which led to the quick identification of the suspect. Due to the fast response of the operatives, the suspect was arrested at about 6:30 PM along Yacapin Extension, Barangay 32. Recovered from his possession was one black Lenovo laptop worth PhP20,000.00, which was allegedly being offered for sale.
The suspect is currently under the custody of PS2, COCPO for proper disposition. Manhunt operations are ongoing against his fleeing cohorts.

The successful arrest was aided by the establishment’s CCTV cameras. In this light, the public is advised to:
* Install CCTV cameras and ensure proper lighting.
* Do not keep large amounts of cash inside establishments or homes.
* Secure doors and locks properly.
* Report suspicious activities immediately to 911, COCPO hotline, or the nearest police station.
