A FRUIT OF RELENTLESS EFFORTS WITH PNP REVITALIZED KASIMBAYANAN | MEMBER OF CPP-NPA-NDF SURRENDERED TO COCPO
Cagayan de Oro City – Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (COCPO) on Tuesday said its unending efforts and working together with the religious sectors, hand in hand under PNP Revitalized Kasimbayanan to convince/ encourage members of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) to return to the government’s fold is now resulting gains on the part of the government, with the surrender of some members 3:45 in the afternoon on December 6, 2022.
The surrenderee identified as Alyas “KA AYA” 21y/o, married, NPA member under GF 68, SRC 4 NCMRC (NPSRL) and a resident of Dominorog, Talakag Bukidnon.
She surrendered to the personnel of the composite team from CMFC-COCPO led by PLTCOL JOEPET B PAGLINAWAN, FC, together with CIU-COCPO, RID 10, RIU10, APC-EM, deployed RPSB and PS4 under the leadership of PCOL AARON M MANDIA, City Director.
Brought with her was One-unit M14 rifle with serial number 3847074 and One steel magazine loaded with five live M14 ammunition.
“PNP has always been open for communication to project a diplomatic and peaceful resolution towards ending any form of conflict and movements that might lead to violence, and this is proof that because of giving importance to our people, we made them realize that government is on their side to protect and make them live peacefully in the community, of course primarily because of consolidated efforts of the team, religious sectors under Revitalized PNP KASIMBAYANAN and the RPSB who were task to address insurgency issue in the hinterland Barangays is now reaping their respective fruits of sacrifices”, said PCOL AARON M MANDIA, in a statement.
She surrendered to unite with her family and live a normal life which might turn out to be impossible if she will remain in the movement.
The City Director said that Alyas Ka-Aya is now in the process of availing of the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) in the region.
He added that the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) will soon lay down the livelihood and reintegration assistance for the returnees so they can jumpstart this new chapter in their lives.
The National Democratic Front (NDF) has been formally designated as a terrorist organization by the Anti-Terrorism Council on June 23, 2021, being “an integral and inseparable part” of the CPP-NPA created in April 1973. While CPP-NPA is listed as a terrorist organization by different countries including the Philippines.
The firearm is presently under the custody of CMFC COCPO Logistics and will be turned over to Crime Laboratory for proper disposition. While said surrenderee is now in the custody of CMFC COCPO for further debriefing.
